Bookkeeper - ADMINISTRATION

Position Description: The Bookkeeper will play a vital role in the organization by recording and maintaining its financial records. Must have a broad understanding of accounting methods, principles and practices with the ability to recognize and resolve discrepancies with limited direction. Required to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles with the ability to complete projects on time. The bookkeeper will be a self-motivated individual with an entrepreneurial spirit, and career-driven mindset. The bookkeeper will be a hardworking, trustworthy, and organized person, with a strong ability to multi-task. A can-do attitude is a must, along with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to a demanding and changing work environment.


Job duties:

  • Enter daily record of accounts receivables and payables

  • Pay bills and maintain ledgers

  • Record receipts and prepare bank deposits

  • Create customers within QuickBooks

  • Maintain accurate chart of accounts

  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system

  • Prepare books for monthly reconciliation

  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements

  • Follow and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field preferred

  • Minimum of four years accounting or bookkeeping experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger and financial reporting

  • Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Premiere 2016 edition or newer

  • Well-versed in Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, and Excel)

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with attention to detail

  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing

  • A good reputation for confidentiality and integrity

  • Ability to read and write English proficiently

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Detail-oriented

  • Professional attitude and teamwork mentality

  • Outstanding attendance and ability to self-direct

  • Current/Valid Colorado Driver’s License

  • Good driving record that meets the requirements of agencies insurance carrier

  • Ability to pass criminal background checks

  • Must be able to document your eligibility to legally work in the United States

 

Minimum Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift approximately 20lbs as it pertains to office supplies.

  • Requires moderate amount of reaching over head and away from body.

  • May be required to bend, stoop, squat and climb as it pertains to assessing an environment.

  • Requires sitting at a desk for up to 8 hours with breaks and the ability to walk or stretch as needed.

  • May include repetitive motions such as typing and sitting at a computer.

  • Walking short distances

  • Work is primarily indoors in a professional office environment. 

  • Daily significant contact with agency personnel and its employees or contractors as well as outside governing agencies and benefit carriers; as well as contact with individuals with Developmental Disabilities.
